| Boxford CAD/CAM Lab BCCL1 |
![]() The BCCL1 provides a machine tool per student workstation, which doubles as a CNC controller. With the ability to operate as both a lathe or a mill/drill, the DUET is an ideal machine with which to teach computer aided manufacturing. The Boxford CAM software allows students to produce finished components in minutes using graphical simulation of the component and the machining process to reduce or eliminate programme proving time. Used in conjunction with CAD software on the same workstations, geometry defined in the CAD system can be imported into the CAM software, further reducing programming time and facilitating the whole CAD/CAM cycle to be taught. The networked workstations allows both a DNC type facility and gives the tutor a powerful student monitoring/help tool. Downloadable System SpecificationAn in-depth machine and system specification is available as a downloadable word document. | Boxford CAD/CAM Lab BCCL2 |
![]() The BCCL2 provides four CNC lathes and four CNC mill/drill machines, their CNC controllers doubling as CAD/CAM workstations along with seven additional student workstations where programmes can be prepared before downloading, via the network, to the chosen machine tool. The tutors workstation facilitates control over the network and machine tool allocation besides providing a powerful student monitoring/help tool. Downloadable System SpecificationAn in-depth machine and system specification is available as a downloadable word document. Simply right click on the blue text and select 'Save Target As' to download the file to your system.

| Boxford CAD/CAM Lab BCCL4 |
![]() The BCCL4 provides industrially robust machine tools in the teaching environment. It affords all the advantages of rapid programme preparation at or away from the machine tools in a networked environment (as described in BCCL1 and BCCL2) yet allows larger components to be produced. The CNC controllers in BCCL4 are external and adjacent to the machine tools hence available for other uses. Downloadable System SpecificationAn in-depth machine and system specification is available as a downloadable word document. Boxford Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) Laboratory - BCIM1 |
![]() BCIM1 adds robotics and process control to machine tools, tutor and student workstations to form an industrial quality CIM cell. Managed from a central control, the cell is centred around a closed loop conveyor which transports components on pallets to and from a central storage area, via the manufacturing and inspection processes. The automatic storage and retrieval system uses a carousel type storage device and a robot to transport components to and from the conveyor. The manufacturing area consists of two CNC machine tools, serviced by a robot mounted on a linear slidebase, which also takes components from and returns them to the conveyor. The inspection area utilises a vision system of inspection. Components are taken from and returned to the conveyor by means of a third robot. Robots are programmable and the specification of the workstations is extended to include robot simulation. Note:- This industrial quality CIM cell utilises third-part supplied products. Downloadable System SpecificationAn in-depth machine and system specification is available as a downloadable word document.
