Boxford supports STEM event at Yorkshire Air Museum
Boxford was once again delighted to support the York ‘Inspirations’ event with 2 hands on activities that allowed student to interact with the some of the very latest manufacturing and training technology.
Students were able to design and make their own laser cut components utilising our desktop BGL230 Laser Cutter or try their hand at virtual welding using our ultra safe and cost effective Augmented Reality Welding Training System.
What is the ‘Inspirations’ event?
An annual showcase event dedicated to celebrating young people’s achievements in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) as well as innovation and enterprise. Over 1,000 students (aged 11-19) and teachers from across the North Yorkshire region take part in fun and interactive activities, linking classroom learning with real career opportunities.
The event aims to promote and celebrate STEM studies and related careers, with opportunities to take part in ‘hands on’ workshops and challenges. Students are at the heart of the event displaying their ideas, projects and prototypes to our expert judges recruited from business.
At the core of this event is a real celebration of achievement – young people are put at the heart of this event, displaying their ideas, whether STEM or Enterprise projects and prototypes created within education or outside. Over 80 judges awarded 50 prizes to students with projects in areas such as engineering, graphics, electronics, textiles, sustainability and innovation.
