In these unprecedented times it has been a huge challenge for every business and organisation to continue to operate as usual. Since we received the government guidance back in March, we had to take every step in order to look after the safety of our staff and customers, as well as maintain the long term security of the business, to ensure we can continue to supply machines for years to come.
We are pleased to say that currently, we have been able to secure the jobs of all of our staff due to the governments job retention scheme and have been able to keep operations going, albeit with a reduced number of staff on-site, in order to be able to adhere to all of the current health and safety and social distancing guidelines.
Following the more recent government guidance, Boxford is open for business as usual. We are manufacturing machines safely from our Halifax headquarters and we have stock available for delivery.
During this time, while social distancing measures remain a necessity, we have been able to train our customers on their Boxford machines remotely, using a combination of video conferencing applications and remote desktop software. This has proved to be extremely successful and we’re proud to have managed to get many customers up and running and confident using our machines, even in these extreme circumstances.
A lot of our customers have even been using our machines, particularly our laser cutting and engraving range, to produce thousands of face shields for front line healthcare staff across the UK. Using a dxf file and a simple set of instructions (which are now available on the Projects section of our website), they have been able to create a flat pack visor which can be assembled by the user.
Another customer of ours purchased a BGL1390 laser cutting and engraving machine which went straight into production laser cutting medical foam for use in ventilator equipment.
When we were asked to produce samples of laser cut foam at the end of February, we never would have imagined that we’d receive a message a few weeks later, informing that a machine would be required as soon as possible, to make breathing filters for equipment being used on patients with Covid-19. Our team were thanked for their efforts for delivering, installing and getting the machine up and running and ready to go. It’s great to know we’ve been able to help, even in a small way.
If you have an inquiry for any of the machines in our range, including: C02 laser cutters, fibre marking lasers, fibre metal cutting lasers, CNC routers, lathes or machining centres, please feel free to get in touch with a member of our team in the usual way.
We can provide you with additional information, pricing, produce free of charge product samples and even give remote machine demonstrations, using your preferred video calling software if required.
If you have any questions at all regarding machine sales, customer support or servicing, please get in touch.
From all of the team at Boxford, take care and stay safe.
