We recently completed the delivery and installation, of a BFL2513 3kW fibre laser cutter for Aley Shopfitting, a company known for designing retail interiors. Founded in 2007 by Martyn Aley and Adrian Tomlin, the business combines Martyn’s 25+ years of experience in the premium beauty sector with Adrian’s background in signage, screen printing, and business operations.
Installation of a BFL2513 3kW Fibre Laser

To streamline production and replace their previous water jet cutting system, Aley Shopfitting invested in the BFL2513 3kw, a high-performance fibre laser cutter designed for precision and efficiency. Using a fibre laser instead of Waterjet, can vastly improve cut times, enhance cut quality and produce more precise components ready for the next stage in the manufacturing process, without cleaning or deburring.

This 2500mm x 1300mm 3kw floor-standing system can continuously cut up to 15mm carbon steel, 8mm stainless steel, and 6mm aluminium. Built using high quality Taiwanese linear guide rails and racks, together with Japanese servo drives, along with a laser source boasting 100,000 hours life span, Boxford machines are robust and built to meet the demands of day to day production.
The system includes 2D CAD/CAM software with nesting capabilities to maximise sheet capacity. It also features factory-fitted components like capacitive height control, an auto-focus cutting head, an integrated red dot pointer for accurate positioning, and a chiller-based cooling system is supplied as standard.
The customer also purchased an optional filtered extraction system to manage fumes and debris, keeping their operators safe when using our fully enclosed system.
Machine testing, calibration and loading at the Boxford factory
Standard equipment includes a powered vertical sliding door which remains within the footprint of the machine, adjustable backstop for sheet location, integrated cutting table with removable slats, a recovery tray and an integrated camera for in-program monitoring. A wired network port also allows for off-line programming and file transfer, with full laser programming also achievable using the lasers onboard PC and large format monitor screen.
Training was delivered on-site in a single day, with the customer cutting production parts immediately after. The installation also comes with 2-year on-site UK mainland parts and labour warranty for peace of mind.
Delivery, installation and training
Boxford took care of the whole delivery, installation, commission and training process, enabling the customer to have a fully up and running fibre laser, ready to meet the demands of their daily production schedule in only 2 days.
We’re experts at squeezing our compact machines into tight spaces! In order to maximise their factory floor space, we installed the machine beneath a mezzanine floor, giving the customer an extremely neat and space-efficient set up, without limiting the functionality of the sheet loading and laser cutting process.
