The 2022 Design and Technology Association Excellence Awards celebrates the reach of design and technology by awarding teachers and students for going above and beyond the remits of the subject.
This year saw revised awards categories being rolled out across Industry engagement, D&T support staff, and educational research, as part of enhanced efforts to recognise effort and excellence throughout the sector.
Our category sponsorship was in recognition of the commitment and achievements of teachers, and we were delighted to award the Boxford Excellence Award for Outstanding Industry Engagement (Teacher) to a very deserving teacher; Antoinette Kodi-Pecku from The Ursuline Academy in Ilford.
With a real shortage of engineers and designers within advanced manufacturing and creative industries, celebrating the commitment and achievements of teachers, teacher trainers, education consultants and academics through the Design and Technology Association Excellence Awards, is more important than ever.
It was a delight for Boxford staff to attend the annual dinner event held at The Institute of Engineering and Technology, and for our managing director Paul Barraclough to present the award to Antoinette.
Paul said: “We’re excited to see the award go to such a deserving winner, and we’re extremely proud to be awarding Antoinette’s hard work for inspiring future generations. Boxford is a long-standing supporter of the D&T association, which has been awarding the commitment and achievements of individuals across primary and secondary schools and further and higher education since 1999.”
