On 23rd June, Boxford proudly returned as an official sponsor of the Scalextric4Schools National Finals, held at the iconic Triumph Visitor Experience in Hinckley. This exciting STEM competition brings together budding engineers from schools across the UK to design, build, and race their own high-performance Scalextric cars.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting engineering education and innovation, we were once again proud to present the Boxford Best Engineered Car Award, a title that recognises outstanding creativity and technical excellence in design and manufacturing. Our Managing Director, Paul Barraclough, took on the role of official judge, helping to evaluate each team’s efforts across a range of criteria.

Adding extra excitement to the day, TV presenter Grace Webb, known for her work in motorsport and engineering education, was also in attendance. Her enthusiasm and encouragement provided an extra spark of inspiration to the students and spectators alike.
At Boxford, we believe hands-on experience is key to nurturing the next generation of engineers. Events like Scalextric4Schools play a vital role in bridging the gap between the classroom and real-world design and manufacturing challenges.

A huge congratulations to all the participants, and especially to the winners of this year’s Boxford Best Engineered Car Award. We can’t wait to see what innovations next year’s competition will bring!
